01 / INTRODUCTION

More than a team. A club that belongs to its city.

Charlottesville Blues FC was built around an opportunity to bring a new level of soccer to Charlottesville and give the community a club it could recognize as its own.

As a co-owner, Brian Krow helped shape the club as both a sports organization and a brand: connecting its identity to the people, partnerships, experiences and storytelling that make a team meaningful beyond the final whistle.

This case study focuses on the business and brand-building work behind the club—not simply the promotion of individual matches.

02 / THE OBJECTIVE

Build recognition. Create belonging.

A new sports club needs more than a crest and a fixture list. It needs a clear identity, a reason for fans to care, an experience worth attending and a platform that gives commercial partners a meaningful way to participate.

The objective was to establish the Blues as a recognizable Charlottesville sports brand while developing the foundations for fan engagement, sponsor relationships and a compelling matchday experience.

Build the club's visual language.

Establish a distinctive foundation for the crest, wordmarks, team presentation and branded communications, supported by a consistent design system.
